In a bid to tackle the pressing issues of nutrition and food security within the nation, the chairman, conference of speakers of state legislatures of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has intensified advocacy efforts during a legislative retreat.
This retreat, which convened lawmakers, experts, and stakeholders from the nutrition and agricultural sectors, served as a platform for in-depth discussions on strategies to address the challenges facing the state in these crucial areas.
During his address at the 3rd retreat organized by the House of Representatives Committee on Nutrition and Food Security, themed “Galvanizing Legislative Agenda for Nutrition and Food Security in Nigeria,” Ogundoyin emphasized the need for proactive measures to tackle the challenges plaguing the nation’s agricultural sector.
Held in owerri, Imo state, the event saw the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, who also chairs the Nigeria Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures, underscore the urgent necessity for collaborative efforts to combat malnutrition and ensure food security in Oyo State.
He further highlighted the pivotal role of legislation in crafting policies and frameworks that facilitate access to nutritious food and promote sustainable agricultural practices.
