The Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, describing the loss as a painful blow not only to Kebbi State but to the entire legislative community in Nigeria.
In a statement released on behalf of the conference, the Chairman extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Kebbi State, as well as to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late Speaker. He noted that the deceased was a committed lawmaker whose dedication to democratic values and legislative excellence earned him the respect and admiration of his peers across the country.
“The Conference of Speakers has lost a distinguished member, a man of integrity and unwavering commitment to public service. His contributions to the growth of legislative governance and his passion for the development of his state will not be forgotten,” the Chairman stated.
He further emphasized that the late Speaker played a vital role in strengthening inter-legislative cooperation and was an active participant in advancing the objectives of the conference. His absence, the Chairman added, would be deeply felt in ongoing efforts to promote good governance and effective lawmaking at the state level.
The Chairman prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed soul and called on colleagues and associates to honor his memory by upholding the ideals he stood for. He also urged the bereaved family to find comfort in the legacy of service and impact left behind by the late Speaker.
